Our courses, training, and workshops are designed to assist educators, professionals, parents and care providers in better understanding the individuals they support, and helping them achieve optimal outcomes. All courses can be customized, and delivered in multiple formats including classroom style, group presentations, or through digital learning.
CREATING AN INCLUSIVE AND ENRICHED ENVIRONMENT
An inclusive and enriched learning environment incorporates a range of educational practices from comprehensive learning materials and reinforcement schedules to allowing partial participation, personal space, and providing choices. In this course, educators learn the full range, and how to implement them in their classes.
BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Behavior is a form of communication and, often times, the primary method of communication for individuals. In this workshop educators will learn how to identify triggers and antecedents, understand what the individuals is trying to communicate, and develop methods to prevent, intervene, and replace negative behaviors.
DE-ESCALATION & CRISIS COMMUNICATION
At times your case or client will escalate to the point of crisis. You're eager to resolve the issues but it feels like you may have reached the point of no return. In this training, professionals learn how to identify a case on the way to escalation and/or crisis, how to effectively respond, and communication strategies paving the way to de-escalation and resolution..
SPECIAL EDUCATION: LAWS & REQUIREMENTS
This course reviews and explains legislative policy and law within special education including, but not limited to, Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and American Disabilities Act (ADA), Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) and more.
CASE MANAGEMENT: PRACTICAL METHODS FOR MANAGING YOUR CASE LOAD
Effective management of a case load not only produces positive outcomes for the individuals being served, it also produces optimal outcomes for the case manager. In this course, professionals learn effective case management strategies to support the needs of those they serve, collaboration with support providers, and how to resource and advocate without burn-out and frustration.
UNDERSTANDING THE IEP PROCESS
Through this course, participants will better understand the individualized education plan (IEP) process and what it means to their child and family and learn about requirements to provide free and appropriate public education and related services.
Additionally, participants will learn about what available to them and their child, how to request services and the timeframes that their request should be met.
NAVIGATING AVAILABLE RESOURCES
This course provides parents a comprehensive overview of the resources available through regional, state and federal agencies. After completing this course you'll be able to understand where to go to request resources for your home, educational institution, community partners, and where to find resource professionals who provide support with social skills, and adaptive and independent living skills.
